Meet Shihab: A Future Engineer Rising Against the Odds
Shihab is a 20-year-old mechanical engineering student with a vision to create a brighter future for himself and his loved ones. Displaced by conflict, he now lives in a tent with his family, facing daily hardships that would break the spirit of many.
As one of ten siblings, Shihab shoulders immense responsibility. His father struggles with high blood pressure, and two of his brothers, who are married with children, desperately need help with essentials like baby formula and diapers. The skyrocketing cost of food has made even basic survival a challenge, yet Shihab remains committed to completing his education and supporting his family.
Your generosity can help Shihab continue his studies, provide critical necessities for his family, and prove that hope and resilience can triumph in even the toughest conditions. Together, we can empower Shihab to finish his education, achieve his dream of becoming an engineer, and inspire others to rise above adversity.
Mohammed is a 17 year old in Gaza, who has been orphaned by this war.
He needs his basic needs met, and as Gaza's prices are terribly high, with no work available, he needs our help.
A message from Mo: "I am Mohammed from Gaza. I live a very difficult life. I am alone. No one is with me. I am an orphan. I have no father. I live a difficult life. I have lived a year and a half of war. My hands and feet were injured. The house I live in was bombed by Israeli warplanes. Now I do not know what to do. I will not be able to buy the necessary things. Ramadan has come and we are fasting, but I will not be able to provide food every day. I am tired of this life. I want you to help me with any money so that I can buy everything. I hope that everyone will help me. Please, my sister is difficult. Life in Gaza has become very difficult. Everything is expensive. Everything, please help me. My family and I were sleeping at 1 am. The house opposite ours was bombed and the rubble collapsed on us. There were injuries and martyrs. I came out from under the rubble injured, but now thank God I am better. The last one was at the beginning of the war. We were displaced and my family and I slept in the street for a whole month. No one will be able to help us. Now I have become lost. I live alone. My life has become difficult because I lost my family, but this is God’s will. Thank God. Now the war may return. Prices have become very high again. I need $1,300 a month to be able to live. The least thing is that life in Gaza has become more expensive than in America. Life here is very difficult. I hope that everyone will help me and stand by me so that I can live. Contribute so that I can live and stay alive. You are my only hope." -Mohammed Marwan, 17, Gaza, Palestine

Meet Modoulamin "Modou" Sanneh: A Young Leader Building a Future for His Family
Modoulamin “Modou” Sanneh is a 19-year-old from Brikama Town, The Gambia, who has embraced the immense responsibility of caring for his seven younger siblings. As the eldest, Modou has become the backbone of his family, working tirelessly to provide for their daily needs and dreaming of building a home where they can finally find stability and security.
Currently, Modou and his family live in a small house owned by an extended family member. However, they must vacate before winter arrives, leaving them in urgent need of funds to build a modest family home. Brikama Town, like much of The Gambia, faces severe economic challenges, compounded by a lack of job opportunities, deteriorating infrastructure, and the devastating effects of climate change on farmland. These factors make it nearly impossible for Modou to secure consistent income to meet his family’s basic needs.
In addition to providing for his family’s immediate survival, Modou is determined to finish his final year of high school. His dream is to break the cycle of poverty and ensure his siblings have the opportunity to access education and a better future.
